Is it just me, or are electric scooters looking less tempting every week as winter moves on? They're still around, though, but they don't seem to be much in traffic and more.
I'll share my shocking discovery here on the fediverse. I've been an Iron Maiden fan in my youth and have listened to Aces High tons of times. Only this week, I found out that the intro riff starts on an upbeat rather than a downbeat (as the score shows). I always thought the rhythm was pretty straightforward, but it's actually “bouncier” than I thought. Now I'm having a tough time hearing the rhythm “right” after all these years of hearing it “wrong.” #ironmaiden #heavymetal #metal
Went out for a walk on Christmas Day. Didn’t realise that wading in the snow takes a bit more energy than usual walking. Not complaining about the weather though.
Happy Holidays from Eddie and cyborg Rudolf!
Took advantage of the weather yesterday and went to a lake nearby. No better way to for a Finn to get some rest than lakes and trees.

From my PhD thesis, thought the fediverse might appreciate this. Thesis available here: http://urn.fi/URN:ISBN:978-951-29-8042-0

A breathless race for breathing space : Critical-analytical futures studies and the contested co-evolution of privacy imaginaries and institutions

My PhD thesis is now published online: http://urn.fi/URN:ISBN:978-951-29-8042-0

Short summary: I analyze the anticipatory negotiation on privacy rules in Europe, and use critical-analytical futures studies to identify latent possibilities for agency.

Good morning #fediverse! Seems like winter is here and we’re finally seeing the sun again. #winter #snow
How do we deal with climate crisis talk and the discourse of inevitability as critical futurists while avoiding denialism, asks @[email protected] #futuresconference2019
Toni Ahlqvist speaking about the antagonism between big data and "thick data". My question: is this datafication and its opposite or two alternative paths of datafication? #futuresconference2019 #bigdata
