@Daojoan My first modem was my birthday present for my 16th - 1997. The first in store on V90 out of the box - full 56kbps! Back then it already felt like archeology, like looking at something that's partly already gone - but it was the rise of http which gave us all our own little websites, and later the boards/forums. Sometime around when the Netscape Navigator died the internet got sick and never recovered, went on to transform into this braindead intensive care patient it is today 😔
@Daojoan I like your symbolism. In Germany we're about to get a new government and the guy who'll win the race is best known for being an embarrassing joke who'd wish he could at least get as much attention as your Mr. T. We have a satiric political party and they put on posters with his face and the slogan "That's what happens if you order Trump on Wish!" Seems that the impression that we're getting cheap fakes and knockoffs rather than genuine politicians is a global one.

🚨BREAKING: Google will soon install an app called #AndroidSystemSafetyCore

They say it's a "safety measure" to protect your #privacy, but in fact it's client-side scanning.

Yet, we all know that client-side scanning is bad: https://tuta.com/blog/eu-client-side-scanning

Deinstall the app on your #Android: System -> Apps

"There is no prosecution at any cost." | Tuta

Germany opposes client-side scanning planned by EU - it would create an unprecedented surveillance monster that violates fundamental rights.

You remember #Apple scanning all images on your #mobile device?

If you have an #Android #phone, a new app that doesn't appear in your menu has been automatically and silently installed (or soon will be) by #Google. It is called #AndroidSystemSafetyCore and does exactly the same - scan all images on your device as well as all incoming ones (via messaging). The new spin is that it does so "to protect your #privacy".

You can uninstall this app safely via System -> Apps.

Bless this anonymous hero for speaking out.

This is how rebellion starts—not with grand speeches, but with ordinary people refusing to shut up. https://www.thegodpodcast.com/p/fbi-agents-anonymous-letter-is-a

FBI Agent’s Anonymous Letter Is A Spontaneous Act of Rebellion

One by one, the rebellion grows.

They’ve turned cruelty into a product.

Spite into a subscription service.

Hatred into a growth hack.

The Cruelty Market

Professional wrestling has a term for it: heel heat. It's when a performer does whatever it takes to make the audience hate them. They'll mock the local sports team. Insult the crowd. Break the rules when the referee isn't looking. The better they are at being despised, the more valuable
