I am so, so, so glad that we live in a world with books.
Like, books are freaking magic.
Things are tough right now, but OMG, I have books to read.
An extraordinary book for anyone who cares about #journalism by my colleague John Pendygraft -- it talks about the loss of community journalism, devastating realities of local newsrooms and erosion of connections that enabled manipulation & decay of democracy.
1 of his arguments is that serious journalism does not belong in the garbage pile of social media so I get the irony of promoting it here. (Maybe #Mastodon deserves the benefit of the doubt?) Highly recommend! https://upf.com/book.asp?id=9780813068664#:~:text=An%20incisive%20and%20firsthand%20look,local%20newsrooms%20earn%20it%20back%3F
