I am so, so, so glad that we live in a world with books.

Like, books are freaking magic.

Things are tough right now, but OMG, I have books to read.

@natania what are you reading at the moment?
@cavanscott Nona the Ninth and a bunch of fashion history books.
@natania I have SO MANY books to read. It's a great feeling.
@natania I think the ERG wants to burn books. Not sure where they got that idea from.
@natania butterfly in the sky....
@micheleann proudly a Reading Rainbow kid!

@natania PBS's "summer camp" (i.e. educational daytime TV) was the highlight of my year.

Anyone else remember the guy who would do a chalk drawing while slowly reading a scene from a YA book?

@micheleann @natania Are you maybe talking about John Robbins? "The Book Bird" guy? (I loved that show. Learned about so many new book titles from him, many of them now perennial favorites.)
@Soozcat @natania Wow! That's the guy! And the show was apparently "Cover to Cover".
I watched the episode where he did "The Dark is Rising" while home sick with a fever and it really, really stuck with me. Thanks for that clue!

@natania
Iโ€™m one of those who keep buying more books before Iโ€™ve finished the books I have!
@natania There are some members of my family that simply do not understand why I have so many books in my house, but what would life be like without them? All the possibilities and stories to discover give me joy. ๐Ÿ“—โค๏ธ
@natania I wish I felt this way! I bought a book two months ago, really liked it but only got half way through. I donโ€™t know what my deal is.
@natania thankfully some idiot billionaire canโ€™t come along and make my books stop working.

@natania truly magic โ€” the best escape. Whatโ€™s your fave read of the year?
@natania I am so thankful for books, especially the past couple of years!
@natania Books, music, movies and chocolate are proof that humans can do magic. It's a scientific fact!

@natania Oh gosh, I was going to mention how books look like doorways because they're portals to other worlds and then I stumbled across this and now I WANTS IT PRECIOUS

@Soozcat omg that is so freaking cool
@natania I always think this about my True Crime book club. Whenever everything looks scary, I like reading about how a crime was solved even after a long period of time. I find it comforting and it gives me something to talk to my friends about.
@TexBirdie @natania Do you have any suggestions? I like to listen to audible true crime books but I'm in a slump right now. I can't find any good ones.
@Trcy3 @TexBirdie anything by SA Cosby :)
@natania @TexBirdie Thank you for the recommendation! I just purchased Razorblade Tears. I love reading too but I like to have an audible when I'm driving or working.
@natania @TexBirdie I just finished Razorblade Tears and loved it. Thanks again.
@natania yes! I love to read. I barely watch TV anymore. What are you currently reading? I'm in the middle of The Idiot by Elif Batuman & Snow Flower & the Secret Fan by Lisa See. #readingislife #readallthethings
@natania right. I love reading books and listening to audiobooks. Quoting Alberto Manguel, โ€œโ€œBooks may not change our suffering, books may not protect us from evil, books may not tell us what is good or what is beautiful, and they will certainly not shield us from the common fate of the grave. But books grant us myriad possibilities: the possibility of change, the possibility of illumination.โ€ ๐Ÿ“š Happy reading and have a great weekend.
@natania Having books to read literally saved my life.
@TammyGentzel same! Many times over. As a kid, as a new mom, as me now.
@natania Thank you, I sometimes think it is only me left who loves books
@natania I used to read voraciously as a kid, All the Tom Swift, all the Hardy Boys, all the Doc Savage, all the Pip and Flinx. I think I finally gave up when I started getting older and the only books I wound up buying were O'Reilly and SAMS technical manuals... sorta lost interest in the written word after that ๐Ÿ™‚
