The laughably named "age-assurance industry" should be called the data harvesting industry. That's all it's doing, under the guise of new, statutory mandates.

As for California Gov, Gavin Newsom, he's proven an able foil for Donald Trump's propaganda, but I wouldn't let him near the job of chief executive of any governmental organization.

Technology is not inevitable. We've decided not to have asbestos in our walls, lead in our pipes, or carginogenic chemicals in our food. (If you're going to argue that it's not everywhere, where would you rather live?) We could just not do LLMs. It's allowed.

Do Wikipedia or Open Source projects need an AGENTS.md file that explains to “agentic AI” how to donate money from all the bank accounts and wallet apps the agent was granted access to?
