I love comic strips that play with the form

EU age verifier app was released today on github, saying it'll include remote attestation

Is it just me who finds this terrifying?

No more open operating systems for your phone if you want to be able to use it for age verification. For now, it sounds like this will be for porn, but social media (hello Mastodon) recently got a "recommendation" from our government to not be allowed below a certain age

Will we need a Google or Apple attested device to get around on the internet in a few years?

“Today, there is an average of 37 tonnes of road per inhabitant of the planet… There is 10 times more bitumen, in mass, than there are living animals.”

An article full of shocking statistics: https://www.architectural-review.com/essays/how-much-does-your-road-weigh

Do you like trams?
I do! To extent that I have written my PhD thesis about trams in art. Being aware that not everyone would want to read a long academic thesis, I also curated the exhibition that is fun and accessible.

The exhibition The Flying Tram (Lendav Tramm) is open in Tallinn City Museum until January 2026.

If you visits Tallinn this summer, don’t miss the chance to see it! More information will follow!

A strong statement of resistance to the relentless marketing of "AI" in education spaces. I encourage all educators to have a look and consider signing on:

An open letter from educators who refuse the call to adopt GenAI in education

Thank you for your interest in my previous post about the tram exhibition! I am telling a bit more:

The exhibition presents the history of Tallinn trams that have been continuously in operation since 1888. Also, it presents stories from today’s tram drivers, some of them have been working on the route for decades. Besides stories and histories, the exhibition shows how trams are featured in the arts: painting, literature, film.

I curated and designed the exhibition ‘The Flying Tram’ together with The People’s Museum of Tallinn.

Numerous flights (mine included) are cancelled in Paris due to an ATC union strike. One grievance that the few media links I clicked (ABC, Reuters) fail to mention is the apparent installation of surveillance cameras to monitor French air traffic controllers.

The one place I managed to find this mentioned before my flight boards is on the ICNA website, in a press release for the strike. The grievances are not clear and seem more aimed at ATCs than the general public.

Poltava earlier this morning. Three russian drones strike one after another.
There's a Polish meme about sci-fi written by Lem vs sci-fi written by Bioware. I don't think it is a known meme. It should be a known meme.

After 14years I met Julian #Assange as a free man.
Hardship hasn't made him hard
In this article for @ComputerWeekly I explain why if in the next months I'll lose the #FOIA case against the #USStateDept, truth about the case will NOT see the light of day

One year since being freed, Julian Assange still a victim of state secrecy

If the State Department’s arguments prevail in FOIA litigation, the truth about US action against Julian Assange and WikiLeaks journalists will never be known
