myrmepropagandistThat is the kind of filter they have for their "amazing ideas" ... so it's not surprising that there have been so many instances of hucksters getting through.
They like the "feeling" of activism and "making the world a better place" but want none of the hard parts that make that kind of work complex and challenging.
I was a bit taken in at first. But seeing how they "handle" presenters made me change my mind.

Isle of EiggEigg isn't connected to the UK national grid. Instead we generate 90% to 95% of our electricity from wind, sun, & water (hydro). Community-owned Eigg Electric was switched on in 2008. Islanders are trained and employed to manage it. Electricity costs 28p per unit/kWh. Before 2008 each property had its own diesel generator.
