I bought a used Pixel so Google received no money from me. Graphene is Android with all the Google "services" ripped out: no Google Play store, no Google search, no LLM garbage, no surveillance and privacy intrusions from Google HQ. So I'm giving them no data, either.
I agree wholeheartedly that Google is if anything much worse than Apple. Going this route means that I'm providing zero financial support to either company.

these all imply the existence of a COMDEX re-enactment society where a group of us agrees on a specific comdex show. each team then picks their classic microcomputer company, and spends the rest of the year designing a booth, stocked with period-specific original hardware and software.
we meet for one weekend a year, in a large exhibition hall, swapping business cards and demoing our booths.
