these all imply the existence of a COMDEX re-enactment society where a group of us agrees on a specific comdex show. each team then picks their classic microcomputer company, and spends the rest of the year designing a booth, stocked with period-specific original hardware and software.
we meet for one weekend a year, in a large exhibition hall, swapping business cards and demoing our booths.

I was lucky enough to see Jane Goodall with classmates at a talk when I was an undergraduate in 1994 or so. While I can't remember her exact words, I do remember the feeling of utter heartfelt devotion to trying to make the world a better place.
Such a small, unassuming, gentle woman, and yet she absolutely _radiated_ charismatic intensity on that stage in a way I've never witnessed from anyone else since.
