@gvwilson most of my single-file scripts these days are written that way with uv in the shebang, so dependencies are installed on run https://docs.astral.sh/uv/guides/scripts/#using-a-shebang-to-create-an-executable-file

It was nice to be able to take part in the nf-core Hackathon again. There was a nice discussion on meta-pipelines. It looked like lots of people were having fun at their respective sites. And I made a few PRs.

There's a paper in psychology this makes me think of: "Penalties for success: reactions to women who succeed at male gender-typed tasks"

Even when women prove themselves competent at tasks, there is "bias in evaluative judgments."

Penalties for success: reactions to women who succeed at male gender-typed tasks - PubMed

A total of 242 subjects participated in 3 experimental studies investigating reactions to a woman's success in a male gender-typed job. Results strongly supported the authors' hypotheses, indicating that (a) when women are acknowledged to have been successful, they are less liked and more personally …

Happy #BioinformaticsDay!
Bioinformatics helps turn massive biological datasets into insight, powering discoveries in genomics, evolution, medicine, and beyond. Today also celebrates the legacy of pioneers like Margaret Dayhoff, whose work helped shape the foundations of modern computational biology.

Here’s to the scientists, developers, and educators advancing data-driven biology every day!

I finally fixed a few things in my Nextflow daisy chaining proof of concept and added a couple others. https://github.com/mahesh-panchal/nf-cascade. Thanks to the Seqera team for spotlighting it in a recent podcast. https://seqera.io/podcasts/episode-56-pipeline-chaining-meta-pipelines-part-1/
