By all accounts, HBO's #TheLastOfUs is amazing - fantastic cast, intriguing worldbuilding, fantastic visual and audio design, etc; it is the video-game adaptation everybody has been waiting for.

And I can't watch it for the same reason I STILL can't bring myself to watch Contagion, the early pandemic streaming rewatch. With all that is STILL happening, biological disaster movies are a nerve too raw, an anxiety too real, a stress still too lived to also "unwind" too.

Riffing on the meme - does anyone know the original source or cartoon author? I see the format sometimes referred to as "nailed it", but that applies to a number of setups.

Well, dag-nabbit! I think I see why Starlink has been unpredictable lately.https://mastodon.social/@MattF_NorCal/109667734431328162
OK. So that didn't work. What if I save the GIF to the desktop and then re-upload?

The moon sure is bright out, though. From far enough away it doesn't look like there is that much more to do.
The storm did a number to the skating rink. After spending most of the afternoon trying to clear a foot of snow off, I gave up and headed inside. The additional weight was forcing water up from below (impressive given there's about 15 inches of ice), sopping up the bottom snow. At this point, I probably just need to run hoses down and re-flood the entire thing to start over.

A classic. I'd love to give attribution to the original creator but trying to look up the history is a bit difficult. Hand drawn versions appear to have existed pre-Internet; these 70s and 80s images apparently were the basis for the version which appeared in John Oakland's book Total Quality Management, first published in 1989. https://www.businessballs.com/amusement-stress-relief/tree-swing-cartoon-pictures-early-versions/

More backstory there. Fascinating history.

TBH, the blackout poetry from old technical references is increasingly attractive, regardless of the poll results.
