This study used the Monk Skin Tone Scale (MST) to examine #colorism in representation in TV. They found screen time disparities for darker-skinned characters - especially darker-skinned female characters.
Can’t wait for Jocelyn Simonson’s forthcoming book Radical Acts of Justice to drop next year. The book “tells the stories of ordinary people joining together in collective acts of resistance” against the carceral state.
