Leo Arriola, Oren Samet, and I have a languishing paper on citizen inclusion and attitude formation in peace processes with data from just prior to the Myanmar coup. What to do with it? Well, we were so lucky to get fantastic suggestions from the very best at #uclconflict & #EUI_EU this past week! (Hard to imagine how people get work done in places like these with views like these...)
So much cool stuff is happening at the US-MEX Center at UCSD - like survey work on perceptions about democratic institutions https://usmex.ucsd.edu/research/democracy.html - great to get to catch up! #Mexico #democracy #survey

Got to spend some fantastic time thinking about the police in their many forms in Latin America.

There is some great work on this, like the amazing recent @EGAP Metaketa set of studies on community policing, led by Graeme Blair and an amazing group, with some of this work done in Latin America: https://egap.org/our-work/the-metaketa-initiative/round4-community-policing/

Round IV: Community Policing – EGAP

The sun finally came out in time for my visit to #USMEX Center at #UCSD - thanks to their folks and other wonderful colleagues #IGCC and #GPS for giving such great feedback on early work on #citizenbuy-in with #localpolice versus alternative designs in #Mexico and elsewhere!
