Preparing to go mecha sicko mode with Patrick and Ren with the latest Armored Core game. Importantly, Patrick's mech is broken, getting beat up. Can we fix them? www.twitch.tv/remapradio
Over at Crossplay, I profiled a company using artificial intelligence to monitor what kids are saying—and what's being said to them—while playing online games. Would you feel comfortable using something like this? https://patrickklepek.substack.com/p/this-company-is-betting-ai-can-help

ProtectMe silently monitors what your child says—and what people say to them—and reports back. But at what point does software like this become an invasion of privacy?

The more I play of #midnightsuns, the more I miss #xcom2. I'm enjoying hanging out at the abbey with the Suns, but the more limited scope of the missions paired with the card mechanics definitely isn't scratching the same itch. XCOM 2's sprawling mission areas, the deliberate act of creeping forward, taking cover, setting up overwatch cones, discovering enemy pods, trading fire and repositioning; it all combines to create such a satisfying rhythm. Might have to try Daemonhunters to get my fix.

I've seen a few folks join Mastodon and complain that it's too difficult to follow people on other servers, with the cutting and pasting and whatnot. But @bramus has now created a neat Chrome extension (or bookmarklet, if you prefer to go that route) that let's you avoid all that hassle.

I just tested it out... by following @bramus with it!

#Introduction

I enjoy playing narrative-heavy games that are relatively light mechanical complexity (whether they be of the videogame, ttrpg, or board game variety), although I do dabble here and there with turn-based tactics and strategy games. I'm hoping a Masto account will give me a venue to unpack my thoughts as I play them and occasionally talk about anime and manga I've been consuming.
