Kleiner Reminder: Der VW-Abgasskandal wurde in den USA aufgedeckt, weil die US-Umweltschutzbehörde EPA im Gegensatz zu Europa nicht nur Labortests durchführte, sondern auch Nachtests im alltäglichen Straßenbetrieb vornahm.

The gap in sustainable, independent infrastructure is real. While #EuropePMC positions itself as an "open scholarly infrastructure" provider, it remains operationally dependent on U.S. systems for a significant portion of its journal content pipeline. If #PubMed were restricted or discontinued, European researchers would face a lag in accessing new journal literature and would be forced to rely on either archived snapshots of content or more fragmented preprint sources.
