Amateur radio (M0VFC) and broadcast radio (cambridge105.co.uk) in my spare time; Security Lead to keep me busy during the day. 🏳️‍🌈/He/him

We tried using a Flex 6400 at G3PYE for the #rsgb 80m SSB contest a couple of weeks ago for the first time - only to find no audio from the headset mic.

Two headsets, same problem. Headset on the Elecraft K3 worked fine.

Just found the issue: Sennheiser connect tip to ring on the mic jack. Flex connect ring to shield on the mic socket.

Solved with a short adaptor cable which I must now try not to loose before the next contest... #hamr

Out with G3PYE/P in the March 144/432MHz contest today.

Forgot the rotator controller for 70cm so had to improvise with a switch and multimeter.

Beaming 290 ohms...

Last of the #rsgb AFS Super League contests today - 70cm as G3PYE/P with @m0blf #hamr

We were warned before heading to Gran Canaria that it was quite cold and we should bring warm clothes. Definitely not!

Summit EA8/GC-003 for #sota #hamr

Was slightly concerned tonight's 80m contest was going to be quiet what with the sportball thing on at the same time, but at 60 QSOs in by the 20 minute mark, it seems the #hamr consensus is that we'd rather be on the radio...

Not often you get to walk into the EU on foot... With @m1geo, @m0wut and @m0blf after a quick #sota in Liechtenstein
(and the APRS track, which doesn't quite fit on one screen - thanks @m1geo for the driving!)

First time in a decade or so, I've made it back to #hamr Friedricshafen! Looking forward to the event over the next couple of days, but in the meantime, ice cream by the Bodensee.

Hope to see a few folks tomorrow!

Got woken up by the UPS beeping at me in the middle of the night.

Electricity meter still had power, but consumer units did not.

Turns out one of the input terminals of the main 100A isolator had got a bit warm and tried to melt its way out of the case... remember to tighten your terminals!

Obligatory #aurora pics, just north of Cambridge. Brighter and more stable than I've ever seen before (including in Iceland)!

(Just taken on phone, hand held, which also blows my mind...)
