Journalist challenge: Use “Machine Learning” when you mean machine learning and “LLM” when you mean LLM. Ditch “AI” as a catch-all term, it’s not useful for readers and it helps companies trying to confuse the public by obscuring the roles played by different technologies.

Are you running a Mastodon server where the locale files have been damaged such that "toot" was accidentally replaced with "post"? I wrote a script at https://github.com/freeradical-dot-zone/mastools/blob/main/src/mastools/scripts/fix_locale.py to fix it. Download that, then run:

$ uv run fix_locale.py -w app/javascript/mastodon/locales/en.json
$ uv run fix_locale.py -w config/locales/en.yml

to correct the problem.

Regardless of what you think about AI, firing someone because they refuse to use speculative new technology is utterly deranged behavior.

Teslas have a kill switch
Your ISP supplied router has a kill switch
Your phone has a kill switch
Your Windows computer has a kill switch
Your programmable bed has a kill switch
Your robot vacuum has a kill switch
Your MS Mail account and your Bank account has a kill switch (ask ICC judges)
Your data in the US owned cloud (even if hosted in Europe) has a kill switch
F35 planes, NATO donated to Ukraine, have a kill switch.
Your Polish locomotive has a kill switch (activated if you try and use an independent repair shop).
All these have been mentioned in the news and in the Fediverse recently.

Most of these are controlled by US or Chinese companies. Particularly with Trump in charge and alll the tech Billionaires subbing him are you sure that the American ones are less lilkely to be used against you by the USAian companies than the Chinese companies to disable your kit and maybe your life?a
