@JonKramer @georgetakei it certainly CAN be true, if that company's value happened to be built on antisemitism. in which case, if it could be destroyed by the truth then it deserved to be.
@anttipeltola in other words, they could have kept taxes exactly the same and ACTUALLY reduced the deficit. but that's not what conservatives do, of course.

i don't have an introduction post pinned, because i can't fit that into 500 chars.

i emigrated from Finland to the USA in late 1998. i've grown politically more leftist the more i've seen of laissez-faire capitalism, and currently see myself as a Northern European-style social democrat, circa mid-1990's.

i took cycling back up in or around 2005, and wish i had taken it back up earlier. i write computer programs for a living, and therefore don't trust any computer i can't shoot. nor should you.

Went for another (partly) off-road bike ride along a similar (but not identical) route as a few weeks ago. This is only a couple hundred meters from the last panorama i posted to Mastodon, yet i couldn't get a panorama picture from where i was standing, just a little further up the hill.

@KissAnne all spiders are venomous, it's how they hunt what they eat. just the vast majority of them aren't venomous enough to hurt humans at all.

i don't mind spiders much, so long as they stay off of me and my things. they can sit on the wall and eat mosquitoes all they want.

took another bike ride yesterday. while i'm mostly a road cyclist, occasionally i do like to try a bit of off-road biking, and that gets me to woodland scenarios a little like this one.

(it also gets me an incredible workout. seriously, compared to road cycling, mountain biking is hard work!)

Took another really short bike ride yesterday, just twice around the lake loop. The trail was fairly busy --- as usual for that loop --- but i wasn't really out for exercise, so i took my time and stopped for photos.

took a slow bike ride yesterday, ended up visiting a little community garden cum nature preserve just outside Suttons Bay, Michigan. always a calm, peaceful spot to sit or stroll.

i'm currently in the process of abandoning Ubuntu for a rolling release distro, for... reasons. i have many interesting findings to report on this, but they won't fit in these 500 characters.

is there a federated non-micro blogging platform anyone can recommend? would friendica be able to be pressed into such service, as i have my eyes on an instance of that?

@KrissyKat when your entire platform consists of nothing but demonizing the out-groups, over time the in-group will inevitably shrink ever smaller, and the leopards be forced to eat each others' faces lest they starve.
