Went for another (partly) off-road bike ride along a similar (but not identical) route as a few weeks ago. This is only a couple hundred meters from the last panorama i posted to Mastodon, yet i couldn't get a panorama picture from where i was standing, just a little further up the hill.

took another bike ride yesterday. while i'm mostly a road cyclist, occasionally i do like to try a bit of off-road biking, and that gets me to woodland scenarios a little like this one.

(it also gets me an incredible workout. seriously, compared to road cycling, mountain biking is hard work!)

Took another really short bike ride yesterday, just twice around the lake loop. The trail was fairly busy --- as usual for that loop --- but i wasn't really out for exercise, so i took my time and stopped for photos.

took a slow bike ride yesterday, ended up visiting a little community garden cum nature preserve just outside Suttons Bay, Michigan. always a calm, peaceful spot to sit or stroll.

it's early July, so the height of festival season --- and therefore the air shows --- are in town. which means we're leaving town to avoid the jet-plane noise during the crucial hours of the day.

yesterday we went for a walk along the beach, a few dozen kilometres/miles away; this is by the lighthouse at the tip of Leelanau Peninsula.

very successful little 72-km bike ride yesterday. not a novel route, but between the new bike and riding it in the opposite (to my usual) direction made it feel new.

i went mountain biking yesterday. well, i'm a road cyclist; i mostly hiked up the hills, and down some of them too. but once i got up to the top and let my heart rate calm down, the view was nice.

i like taking landscape panoramas while i'm out cycling. this is an often ridden-past spot i decided to stop at for a change, for the blooming fruit trees' sake.

(no, i sadly don't know what fruit are cultivated there. possibly cherries or apples.)

Leelanau trail, by Shady Lane.

years ago, long before that sculpture was put up, there used to be a hand-made sign by the bike trail just a couple hundred meters from this spot; it read "unicorn crossing".

that sign is long gone now; i guess someone's kid grew up and put aside their childish things.

i miss that sign every time i ride past its spot on the trail.
