The soviet's basically codified Zionist into a slur. David Duke, former head of KKK, coined the term Zio as a slur. And zionists were disliked by leftists before Oct 7, but it just wasn't so high on the propaganda prototype list until Oct 7. That's why it's realllllly taken off in leftist circles recently. Right wingers switch between saying zionists and just outright saying Jews, and now leftists are starting to join them in that too.
