Wirral MakeFest are looking for makers. Their form is open only until Feb 1st. So don't delay! It's a great event to take part in. Details here - https://forms.gle/6eBaoEaGBQMGv5Cw5 #makers #steam #stem #wirral #event
Just blogged about this fabulous #rp2350 #opensource controller system that @steamengineers built in response to my little Tiny Opensource Underwater Vehicle (TOUV) project. It's amazing when people get excited about stuff you make, and then respond by making something excellent that makes the whole project better! The little palm sized TOUV submarine is featured in this months @rpimag issue ICYMI. #underwater #rov #madewithfreecad #kicad

Fairly short #weeknotes this week. @huffeec and @amcewen do some architecting (of software), @defnetmedia wraps up our @lpoolmakefest sharing, and @amcewen does a bit of maintenance on the @DoESLiverpool office architecture (okay, maybe "architecture" is over-playing things πŸ˜€)

Week 1032 - DoorHandleBoss

Chris again this week (and a half, Monday was busy). It was a slightly truncated week for me, fitting in the last of the school 3d printing workshops. There was still time for a very productive mee...

Week 1031 - Bubbles and Fluid (Design)

Following the resurrection (and connecting to Mastodon) of Bubblino last week our work has been punctuated with gentle whirring and showers of bubbles.

@lpoolmakefest did me a world of good. 1st time I've been able to put thoughts of the problems life has recently thrown our way to the back of my mind and enjoy the company of others properly since my kid's emergency hospital admission in May, and my father's rapidly declining health in June. Still another week until my father's funeral, but I felt ready to tackle work and the Makespace Directors meeting today. So thank you to the #LivMakeFest crew, my Maker friends the good people of Liverpool.

We're at Liverpool Central Library today (Saturday 5th July 9am - 5pm), as part of Liverpool MakeFest. Come and have a chat.

And don't miss Mike G's newly finished, completely hand latch-hooked, Very Large Rug (3.12m x 4.05m) on the first floor!

We had a great time at @lpoolmakefest #LivMF thanks to the crew and organisers and other makers and visitors and Liverpool Central Library and @DoESLiverpool and the city and people of Liverpool… πŸ‘πŸ»

I had a really good day today at @lpoolmakefest but also sad to hear that might be the last one.

Enjoyed chatting with @concretedog @huffeec
@cymplecy @biglesp @Extelec @amcewen and really pleased to buy some signs and a new mug from

wow, that was chocker. thanks for a great day out.
@lpoolmakefest MakeFest 2025 was such a great day. So many lovely people exhibiting their projects and creations, and interested members of the public asking about the 3D printers and robots. Here are some of my exhibits. Great to have Nat helping again. They were so good with the younger kids wanting to drive robots and play with the 3D prints.
