I think education should be about building life skills and emotional wellbeing, not test scores and behaviour.

Get the CSCS question right, you get a shot on goal.
That's our school. Football first. Construction came after. But they work together.
Learn safety rules on the pitch. Revise for the test while taking penalties.

Before I taught, I worked in construction. I thought I knew hard work.
Then I started teaching in alternative provision.
The kids who get told every day they're not good enough? Who keep showing up anyway?
Construction taught me how to build things. Teaching taught me how to build people.
"Trust the process."
That's what Arteta kept saying. Even when it wasn't working yet.
That's our school. We're not Arsenal. We're London Rangers, bottom division, still figuring it out.
But we're building something. One CSCS question at a time. One shot on goal at a time.

It's been sunny all week and my school's roof is still without panels.
Flat. South-facing. No shading. A textbook site.
But we can't afford the upfront. So it sits there. Baking. Useless. While we pay the grid rates.
Not a lack of will. A lack of funding that works for schools like ours.
