Dear BBC Wales news, the majority of Welsh citizens are NOT farmers. And NFU Cymru are proven propagandists and science deniers. Sick of media outlets giving equal credence to factually incorrect right wing nonsense. The BBC had to apologise to Farage today, one day soon they will be apologising to the nazis for daring to criticise them during the war. We are in a climate and biodiversity EMERGENCY which needs addressing NOW. No more “legitimate opinions on both sides”. Pah
Checking I've still got an account over here.
The demise of Tweetdeck is probably my final straw.

I never believed in my lifetime I would see a UK Prime Minister boasting to cheering MP’s that his Government was restricting our right to protest, robbing millions of workers of their democratic right to strike & stripping back human rights. Where is the outrage? WHERE?

A UK PM actually boasting to cheering MP’s about restricting our right to protest & strike. Shocking

Watching people (read men) be outraged by the Archeologists saying that women were hunters in Hunter Gatherer societies is just brilliant.

Imagine your misogony running so deep that you can't accept that women were skilled hunters.

How fragile do you have to be that you're offended by women who lived thousands of years ago, being strong, bad ass providers for their group?

Fragile masculinity, so toxic.

Apparently you're meant to do an #Introduction, so...

I'm a writer from the UK. I do threads mocking the political fuck-ups of the week. I've also written bestselling books taking a longer view of UK politics since 2010. I try to make it funny, even though it really isn't.

So I'll mostly be writing about that on here. And dogs.

I spent 30 years as a director-level software dude, and still do software stuff half the time, cos books don't pay. Also a painter, drummer, boxer and cancer survivor.

This is probably the best thing I ever posted on Twitter. The memory is pretty dear to me; I'm sharing it here so it still exists somewhere if that place collapses.
Tackling the cost-of-living crisis is vital, but we mustn't lose track of the fact that healthy nature underpins a healthy economy and adds immeasurably to our wellbeing. Nature has been a solace to many in times of trouble, most recently during the pandemic.

The scale of ongoing biodiversity loss is tremendous.

We should abandon the illusion that politicians will come to the rescue of planet Earth, especially those who delight in calling themselves climate leaders. Time and again they have betrayed the faith that has been placed in them. I write in @NewStatesman https://www.newstatesman.com/environment/2022/10/greta-thunberg-guest-edit-politicians-will-not-com-rescue-planet
Greta Thunberg: “Our politicians will not come to the rescue of planet Earth”

We are living in a state of emergency: the climate, ecological and sustainability crisis is the greatest threat humanity has ever faced. For too long, we have ignored the effects, and now we are livin
