The Japanese have been producing wood for 700 years without cutting down trees. In the 14th century, the extraordinary daisugi pruning technique was born in Japan. The cedar trees are pruned as if they are giant bonsai trees; the wood grows uniform, straight and without knots, perfect for construction. No trees are ever cut down.
A mob of red deer stags in Richmond Park, they were on the edge of the woods and unless you stopped to look from most angles they were perfectly hidden, I crouched down to take the shot, that's when I could see how many there were (shot with a long lens it looks like I was a lot closer than I actually was). #RichmondPark #RedDeer #Stags #RedStags #WildLifePhotography #Nature #Photography #AltText

I recently rewatched THE SIXTH SENSE — written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan — and was reminded yet again that we remember the wrong twist when we think about the film and why it works so well. Let’s discuss...

Ah, that's always nice to see on coverage.

Since pilots, specifically original pilots, have become the standard "audition" for wannabe TV writers, I'm going to try and do a set of rules for them that mimics the one I've done for showrunning (can be found here --> https://mastodon.social/@JeffLieber/109315346829400049).

Please know these rules exist a) for me to work them out for myself b) as a jumping off point for discussion and c) as a set of precepts to abandon and improve upon once you've got it figured out.

So, without further ado...

Has anyone successfully pitched an unscripted show before? Would love some tips from a pro. I have the access to a world rarely seen, a great personality to expose that world, a prodco that wants to pitch it to channels. I think I've got it wrapped up, but experience matters in these... matters 😉
"Everything, everywhere, all at once" . Butt plug fight scene. Freaking genius!
Has anyone pitched a factual entertainment show before? A "follow the investigation" style format? Anyone know of a good pitch document for that kind of thing? Thanks y'all.
Nice chat with a producer today. We are just starting the long journey into FactEnt shows. No idea if it will come to anything, but you gotta try ;-)
