After spending about 6 years away from public speaking, I've sent my first cfp submission yesterday.

It's a talk about event-driven architecture and it's shaping as a survival log for new brave souls who decide to venture the wilds of this architectural style.

It's been a while since I have been as excited about my ideas as I'm right now. It feels kind of good...

I would absolutely love for a paid sponsorship to work on #php even just regularly. But there are only 10 slots and ... there are far more than 10 folks out there deserving of the funds.

I won't apply. But you totally should.

Learn more than one programming language. It's the best thing you'll ever do.

Learn it enough to the point you prefer some of its idioms to your natural tongue.

It'll expand your worldview on software development.

Of geek interest: UUIDs have been around for a long time and they work well and interoperate fine, but the specification space is a mess. So the IETF just shipped RFC9562; it has a fine consideration of the history and the trade-offs involved in all the different flavors of UUIDs, and is well-written and I think, as of now, the place to start looking if something UUID-flavored is puzzling you. Strong work! https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc9562.html
RFC 9562: Universally Unique IDentifiers (UUIDs)

This specification defines UUIDs (Universally Unique IDentifiers) -- also known as GUIDs (Globally Unique IDentifiers) -- and a Uniform Resource Name namespace for UUIDs. A UUID is 128 bits long and is intended to guarantee uniqueness across space and time. UUIDs were originally used in the Apollo Network Computing System (NCS), later in the Open Software Foundation's (OSF's) Distributed Computing Environment (DCE), and then in Microsoft Windows platforms. This specification is derived from the OSF DCE specification with the kind permission of the OSF (now known as "The Open Group"). Information from earlier versions of the OSF DCE specification have been incorporated into this document. This document obsoletes RFC 4122.

We're aware that they are required by Germany's Technical Guideline BSI TR-03111, but otherwise do not know of any entities that actually need them. Please speak up if you do.
