THIS should scare the hell out of everyone. Time for Congress to address this. It may already be too late. ID theft and completely fake AI dissemination of fake news needs to be punishable with significant jail time, that is, years of hard time. It's not just about fabricated school essays anymore.

@rbreich When enough Americans have decided they've had enough, and shut down the economy and take to the streets, then maybe those who should've been prosecuted, or at the very least run out of town, will be held accountable. Until then - business as usual.

@juddlegum 1% of that, just 1% would do amazing things for under-served communities. Pick an issue, any issue. Homelessness? Domestic violence? Learning disabled? Profoundly gifted? An obscure disease?
Maybe that's a caveat Congress needs to write into all budgets. 1% of whatever the Pentagon's budget is, has to automatically go to programs focusing on societal problem(s).

@jaykuo Never in a million years would I ever have thought I'd agree with that pedophile Matt Gaetz, I'm all for keeping Kevin McCarthy out of the Speaker's position. Ffs that would put him within 2 heartbeats of the presidency!

It'd be a great thing if dems and sane repubs could find someone outside of maga-verse to support.
