Here’s the thing. MAGA/GOP hold two wildly hypocritical positions:

1) We need unlimited guns to stop Govt tyranny.

AND

2) We 100% support the Govt as police kill 1100+ civilians annually—far more than every developed country on Earth.

Last night on Christmas Eve TX Gov Abbot sent asylum seekers to DC with no winter clothes or shelter. What "Christ like" behavior.

If only the Bible had a story of a mother fleeing tyranny w/her infant for refuge in a foreign land—maybe GOP would welcome refugees fleeing tyranny w/their kids for refuge in USA. Amazing how the same GOP extremists who demand the Constitution be based on the Bible, suddenly forget ever Biblical principle about serving humanity.

The dangerous hypocrisy of it all.

As a human rights lawyer who has done extensive immigration work, let me make something absolutely clear.

Asylum is legal immigration.
There's no "port of entry" requirement.
There's no "visa" requirement.
There's no "first country" requirement.
You enter the United States, and you apply for asylum.

Because asylum is legal immigration. Period.

Period.

Some inconvenient facts about immigrants that MAGAs hope you ignore:

•Seeking asylum is a legal & human RIGHT, protected by the US Constitution and the UN Convention on Refugees (to which the USA is a signatory)

•Both documented AND undocumented immigrants have LOWER crime rates than US Citizens (and usually higher vaccination rates too)

•Undocumented immigrants pay MORE in taxes ($12B annually) than Trump ever has or will (and get none of the tax benefits)

I am truly horrified & outraged that the Taliban has banned women in Afghanistan from attaining education. The founder of Islam, Prophet Muhammad (sa), loudly condemned such barbarity when he declared, "Education is obligatory upon every Muslim male & female."

In fact Prophet Muhammad (sa) cherished both spiritual & secular education, & encouraged reading & writing for all people—not just Muslims. We stand with Afghan women. Indeed, Taliban terrorists are the antithesis of Islam & all humanity.
