Microbe Talk: Conversations on Collaboration: Hilary Lappin-Scott on cultivating international partnerships

The latest edition of the Microbiology Society’s podcast, Microbe Talk, is now online. In this episode, our Policy and Engagement Officer Katie chatted to Professor Hilary Lappin-Scott OBE, President of the Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS), about her career so far, the importance of collaboration in science and our recent re-association with Horizon Europe.

A fantastic four day trip to #Warsaw for the International Congress on #Pasteur to celebrate the 200th anniversary of his birth. Great science and wonderful colleagues, met lots of new people and loved it all #LoveMicrobiology
Preparing a short speech that I’ll give next week at the #Pasteur Jubille Conference, on behalf of FEMS. Looking forward to the conference and meeting the participants too. #LoveMicrobiology
Time to bring out my festive coffee mug!

Initial survey for the project Migrating to Mastodon: power and social media dynamics in the great #TwitterMigration

Hi everyone. A busy few days of #FEMS work and the Board meeting in #Delft. Good to be able to get back to @Mastodon and see what had been going on 😁
Two great meetings today to prepare further for the #FEMS #microbiology Congress in Hamburg in July 2023. We’re looking to give a lot of support and opportunities to participate for #ECR early career researchers. Next on the #FEMS ‘to do’ list is making decisions on the move to #OpenAccess #publishing.
