Holiday let & smallholding near Llandeilo keeping Shetland Sheep and Angora Goats. I'm learning to prepare and spin their fleeces here. We have a lovely chalet used as a holiday let where people can enjoy a few days in this beautiful part of Carmarthenshire. I would love to spend more time reading, knitting, spinning, gardening, walking and going to the beach - and get quite envious of the people having holidays in our chalet as they have such a relaxing time! Dw i'n dysgu Cymraeg - slowly.

New ‘youth tracker’ poll shows overwhelming support for rejoining the #EU.

86% of young people aged 18-25 would rejoin the EU if there was another referendum, versus just 14% who would vote to stay out.

New 'youth tracker' poll shows overwhelming support for rejoining the EU

"Young people have been let down," by the split, Sir John Major has said. Judging by this poll, the feeling is palpable.

Not quite an #IndependantBookshop but second hand English and Welsh language #books to borrow or buy (£1), at Cletwr, a lovely community cafe and shop in Tre'ddol, half way between Aberystwyth and Machynlleth. Having been about ten times now, it seems to be always busy and friendly. Last week, three very independent women in their 80s having coffee mistook me for their new GP (they were very keen to ensure I had a nice table and then offered a biscuit).

Sunrise on Superior (vertical photo - click it to see it all if you can't see a vertical image in your app)

I was super excited to snag this shot of sunrise on Sunday. There was something slick about the situation. That sidelight from the sun was so sweet.

Many people are desperately afraid of “forever masking.”

I'm afraid of #COVID19 remaining a top five cause of death indefinitely.

I'm scared COVID will leave billions with lasting damage to their heart, brains, and immune systems.

I'm frightened that children infected three, four or nine times will have lifelong health issues.

I'm worried that a rapidly mutating virus could yet spin off a deadly new variant.

Why is it so hard to do something so simple to possibly save a life? #WearAMask

If I occasionally post in Welsh on here, as I would quite like to do as I'm learning, I'm very likely to make mistakes, and I'd be very happy if any proper Welsh speakers would point them out to me, if they happen to notice and have a spare moment :)

This really is the perfect masto instance for me really, given the fondness for defaidodon and regular exposure to plenty of written Cymraeg. I haven't the vocab to grok it all yet but it does me good to try.

Public Service Warning

Mastodon has a very big surge of new users right now. There's no way to tell if it will be sustained, but at this early point it looks similar to Nov 18 when Musk pulled the employee purge.

It is very challenging for system administration to accommodate so many new users. If your server starts to struggle, it is not broken and will get sorted out.

We're all in this together. It's our social network. Be patient. What we are building is amazing.
