Profile pic is from an 1812 etching "the leader of the luddites".
Banner is a line of people walking under a system of cogs, one by one being diminished by the force of the machine (I stole it from somewhere, at least I'm being honest about it)

Throwing LLM generated code over the wall and asking experts in the field to "take a look at it, might be useful" is somehow a very weird way of thinking to me.

I do hope a side effect of the increase in energy prices due to the US-Israel war on Iran is that the increased cost of powering AI data centres is passed onto consumers, causing companies who have gone all in on vibe coding and the like to truly question their life choices 🀞🀞🀞

On the plus side, at least future generations won't have the cognitive skills to judge us harshly.
I'm no artist, but hopefully this gets the point across. A comic in three panels.

I don't really enjoy watching so many people with vast wealth and power realizing in real-time that things are interconnected in ways they can not understand, predict or even model

I would just like a economic system that takes care of everyone bc we absolutely have the wealth/food/etc to do that, and that position is painted as the unrealistic one, despite their solution failing often more than once a decade, often by stupid decisions of shockingly few people

Think about this the next time you casually use AI to do something you could easily have done yourself. Think of it like driving a hummer to go to the store down the street and leaving the engine runningv24/7. #AIIsKillingThePlanet

Quit ChatGPT: right now! Your subscription is bankrolling authoritarianism

The argument for a coordinated boycott makes a lot of sense, but also ignore the bit about using alternatives, just use your brain 🀯

Quit ChatGPT: right now! Your subscription is bankrolling authoritarianism

As a historian, I’ve studied the major consumer boycotts of history. We can take down ChatGPT and send a powerful signal to Silicon Valley, says author and historian Rutger Bregman
