@shawnp0wers I went fully offline and store all my keys & passwords in keepass databases. keepassxc runs great under gnome and plasma, and keepassdx is great on Android. Still need to figure out SyncThing and make a decent offsite backup strategy. Cloud services have bitten me too often for my paranoid liking!
#NoteToSelf -- the reason your car interior isn't heating up is because you left the temperature dial on cold. Also, get it together, self.

"The pen is mightier than the sword" always meant to me that violence could be overcome through words -- that thought and knowledge would bring peace.

But as I've watched the world the last few years I'm realizing how simply and incompletely I understood the phrase. Language is not good or evil; it is simply powerful. Its power is to make us *do*, in the service of good, or evil, or love, or hate.

The pen is mightier than the sword, in that one word can raise a thousand swords.

@wilkie Stay safe!
@grumpygamer Keep your wallet in your front pocket! :D

Sneaking an hour to have a #pipe, since I was going to have lunch with a friend who had car trouble and had to cancel. It's only 19 degF here so any pipes must happen while the sun is up and my #smoking lounge (aka my car) is above freezing inside!

Having a tobacco blend I forgot I had, by a company that is no longer in business, McClelland's Penman's Choice. It's a mix of cavendish and burley with a traditional casing and a coffee topping, maybe a slight hint of cherry. Quite nice!

@mothcub I think that line about "accounts created soley to.." is their plausible deniability exception, to allow them to arbitrarily enforce the rule and pretend that bannings are justified. It gives them a way to pretend that inevitable vicious actions to silence dissent are just mistakes by overzealous individuals or algorithms in the pursuit of justice and fairness.
Quality Inn and their lawyers would like to remind you that it just says "quality" without specificity. Poor quality is still a quality.
With all the new mastodon instances, I'm wondering how many admins are prepared for law enforcement (or other) agencies to come asking for people's information. In many cases the law enforcement is not entitled to this information, nor needs it, but how many admins know what to do and how to be sure they only respond to legitimate requests? And even what their own rights are in these situations? (Which will vary according to local laws.)
