Wish more people realised that for most art businesses, it's the artist alone doing all the work. Creating the pieces, shipping orders, administration, customer service, promotion, starting feuds with other artists, spitefully painting unflattering portraits of them into historical scenes, trying to poison them, it's all one person.

I stumbled into #Bookwyrm yesterday and got all sorts of excited! No algorithms pushing up 5-star positive reviews to increase commerce. No ads. No crews of super-fan marketing armies. (I'm an #sff #romancelandia #literary #allthebooks omnivore. Some types of books on goodreads are just roiling with suspect reviews.) I'm trying to settle into #mastodon before really diving in, but I couldn't resist. I already have an account and my 1st "now reading" book!
