Every day I see posts from the operationinflation crew brings a smile to my face. Standing up to the goon squad one silly inflatable at a time. Shout out to the whistle brigades defending communities across the Chicago area too!

Remember 'NO' is a complete sentence. And these mf'ers fold when you say it.

News: KOIN | 'Operation Inflation’ injects joyful vibe to Portland ICE protests https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/operation-inflation-injects-joyful-vibe-045924911.html Over the past few weeks, more and more protesters at the ICE facility in Portland have been wearing costumes — the frog, a dinosaur, Barney. Part of that is due to a new organization, Operation Inflation, which is purchasing more than 100 inflatable costumes with help from online donations and giving them away for free. Happy Indigenous People's Day!

I just finished reading Becoming Little Shell by Chris La Tray. It is a super engaging memoir/history about the author discovering his roots in the Little Shell Tribe of Montana.

An Aspen avalanche up in Taos Ski Valley. Did some leaf peeping today before the storms roll in.

Just finished and shelved my 121st journal/sketchbook/art playground. I started journaling in earnest when I was 16, but there are a few earlier ones. I've used all kinds of books, but now pretty much stick to a rotation through all the Stillman and Birn softcover 8" x 10" books. # 121 was a gray toned Nova series, and I'm currently using an Epsilon series book.

We drove up to Wild Rivers National Monument for a green chile cheeseburger picnic with my sister and her partner yesterday. It was a beautiful day. El Monte Carlo's (Questa, NM) burger recently won 2nd place at the state fair. It was pretty good... A generous layer of diced green chile that covered the entire hand formed patty. The chile had a perfect amount of kick.

Highlights of my September reads were Necessary Fiction by Eloghosa Osunde , a lush book about the chosen and born into families of queer Nigerians; and Habibi by Chris Thompson a graphic novel about two slaves with a little too much sexual violence for me but absolutely stunning artwork.

Tarantula season is here! The males are on the move seeking mates. We usually find several crawling over the house on their mission. Always amazed that they can crawl up the windows.
