Rad things about mastodon we take for granted

CW -these are amazing

Editing posts -hard to go back once you taste this

Alt text as the norm - (edit: you can be brief! edit it in later!)

Replies -option to delist them so we don’t clog the feed

Timeline curating -we have near infinite timeline options with filters, lists, local, federated, hashtags

Muting -we can choose a time period!

Character count -500 let’s you get an effing thought out

Ownership -we can own the damn thing ourselves

Living in Texas, sometime utterly disgusting -can not stand GQP pro-life hypocrisy

Honestly, some of the most brave humans on the planet are those who come to terms with the fact that their bodies are the polar opposite of their minds and knowing the mind is the vessel of the soul, of the true self, set out to change their bodies in order to bring it into sync with who they really are.

The most cowardly humans on the planet are those who use the power the public gave them to prevent #trans people from living their lives and freely, safely participating in society.

Periodic reminder that "introvert" is not a synonym for "shy" or "bad at public speaking." We can talk to random strangers, we can speak to large audiences. It just exhausts us.

1) Got my spare bedroom cleaned of all the clutter.
2) Caught up with a former coworker at the grocery store. Happy to see her as she was great to work with.
3) Had a nice nap after the above.

Dumb motherfucker

Read an article today about why Americans think alcohol has health benefits and it's apparently another "well the French are healthy and they do X so it's healthy to do X."

So here's your periodic reminder that France (and Italy, and Sweden, and Japan, and basically every country you've seen in a "this country is so healthy, what's their secret?" headline) has universal health care.

The secret is access to health care. It's always access to health care.
