@futurebird At least Trinket is releasing their source code (not sure when). Not sure what level of infrastructure would be needed to make it work for you. Maybe someone will carry the torch in their stead? The Trinket folks mentioned Pickcode. Maybe they can provide what you need for your students? Or maybe something like https://scratch.mit.edu/ could be useful since it's fully free. I'm having trouble finding locally installed apps that teach in a gamified way but I'll look a bit more later.

@gamingonlinux 7 Days to Die kick for me, my brothers, and our wives. Not having to convince my Windows-using siblings to switch to Linux (and not having to jump through hoops to join them) is really, really nice. Plus it's fun. Can't forget that part.

@thomholwerda to be fair, some people have always been allergic to facts. The difference, to me, is the Internet. It has democratized the people's voices, making the noise of the foolish and the malicious just as audible as the sounds of the sane and thoughtful.

@Cederborg Most likely a group of demented perverts is out there (animals of all stripes are out there for certain), but I'll present a second possibility for some of the people searching the name: people looking to see if it's been posted to the sites in order to get it removed. Can't get it taken down to respect the deceased if you don't look for it. The optics are awful, but the act alone does not always reveal motive.
