It Is Journalism’s Sacred Duty To Endanger The Lives Of As Many Trans People As Possible

The task of reporting is not a simple one. Each and every day, reporters and editors at publications like The Onion make difficult decisions about which issues should receive attention, knowing that our coverage will influence not only how people think, but also how they act. @radiojammor Yes. I’d assume that to be the case. But the key point is that, should the SNP win and all 3 parties run on the same single-policy platform, it would be SNP MPs backed by a mandate from >50% of the Scottish electorate. And not for a referendum but for independence.
@radiojammor My understanding, just on the basis of what’s in the public domain, is that this route would not be on the basis of number of MPs elected but on share of popular vote. This appears to be the interpretation of most commentators. Am I missing something?
Anybody who continued watching #Sturgeon's press conference rather than #PMQs will have heard, from questions being asked, that the penny is starting to drop. There is now a live alternative route for #ScottishIndependence backers through Westminster. The #SNP, Greens and Alba do not require consent from Westminster to run a general election on a single-policy manifesto. That is now almost certain to happen. And if >50% of Scottish voters vote to leave a voluntary union... #IndyRef2
Considering they’re mostly just variations on the idea ‘scrolling feed of some combination of text, video and still images’ it’s really interesting to me how emphatically different social media bed into specific characteristics. Almost more like personalities, in a way.
@KristoferKeane Oh, absolutely. The only democratic route left is for the SNP and Greens to completely move on from a referendum and win a significant majority of the public vote in a GE on a single-policy manifesto.
@KristoferKeane Exactly this. I strongly expected this to be the outcome. The question now is: How does the Scottish electorate express and enact a desire to leave a voluntary union of nations, should it so desire? It seems that doing so via a Westminster general election is the only route available without gaining prior permission from the majority of English, Welsh and N Irish MPs.
