My Dreamcast #DreamDisc24 game jam entry can be downloaded now from Itch!
Lately I've been coding so hard at the day job that I've had no energy left for game dev. But there's a Dreamcast game jam coming up and I need to get normal mapping into Simulant before that.
Need coffee.
This week on @thesegalounge: Come on in, take a seat, and don't forget to put the footy in gear: get to know about next guest @kazade, the developer behind TSL's Community Pulse 'Best Indie Game' of 2023, Driving Strikers!

I've been debugging the weirdest issue in @simulant for 3 days now.
For some reason, on a single menu of my game, the whole screen goes black when drawing "one too many" widgets. But only on the GL2 renderer...
I still have no idea why that's the trigger, but I've managed to determine (using Renderdoc) that the black screen is a result of all textures becoming unbound.
After that I discovered that the issue is some ref-counted data incorrectly being freed.
More debugging tomorrow! #gamedev
16G of RAM still not enough for VS Code!
Software development has gone wrong somewhere...
