As chain-retail anchors head out of American urban cores yet again, a new kind of Ikea is about to set up shop in downtown #SanFrancisco. Called Livat, it is a new, pedestrian-friendly model of Ikea - first one opened in #London. Could set an example for how major-chain retail needs to evolve to meet changing times in cities.

LOTS of funding for rail projects in SoCal in the pipeline; much less for NorCal. Firm believer in creating a regional transit authority in the #BayArea to allow the region to plan and function as an interconnected region. As is, lots of inter-agency/-county dysfunction, unfortunately.
