Started on lisinopril last week, I've got hypertension that's not responding to lifestyle changes, and no obvious cause.

Nobody told me that not only does it peak at six hours, but that you need to go really steady exercising when you start it, or when you up your dose, to make sure you don't pass out.

Anyway, guess who just learned that lesson the hard way. 35 minutes into a PT session, just shy of 6 hours after my meds.

You never see toad in the hole anymore
@dysfun time is never time at all, of course

Apparently packer doesn't have a way of giving you a Unix timestamp any more. Apparently it's because the maintainer wants the underlying function to be used for semantic dates or something.

Which I get, your library do what you want.

But what the fuck... how does a build system for images not support this. Why did nobody add that functionality to packer yet. There are plenty of issues and posts and stuff, but how has nobody just done it?

It used to be there. The original packer supported it. Why did that not come over to the new, supposedly improved HCL-ified world? Why was that not an obvious regression?

@joehart oh it starts like that, but give it a week and you'll be buying curtain motors on ali express and building weird little scenes.

Ask me how I know

@dysfun unrelated. I can't say tiramisu without saying it to the theme song of Blankety Blank

@pndc that's not a bad shout at all. The only real books I've got these days, that have survived being dragged across the world and back, are my summer reads: Pratchett, Wodehouse, Sharpe, le Carre.

The idea of using some cold war imagery, though... we do use words like DMZ a lot.

We will have regional centres. Our logging and monitoring could be 'Smiley'.

I think there was a hope I'd come up with something about robots, but I can pitch this

My naming skills have abandoned me. I have 35 minutes to name our new internal hosting platform.

It's going to end up being called something shit like $company cloud or something.

@dwm TIL there's a place called Pity Me.

This sounds a lot of fun though. If I was closer to Durham I'd be giving it serious thought

@b0rk at the time I first came across it I worked in the noc of a small isp, and any development was pretty much done by emailing updated files to whoever owned a script, which would then be used to overwrite some/ all of whatever was getting worked on.

I was the impressionable PFY at the time, and tried to get people using git instead. Didn't really take off, so it was just me, though ostensibly in a team of people supposed to be using it
