Got some banger albums for Christmas. First on the turntable, now I'm home, is It's Great When You're Straight, Black Grape.

Needed a proper cleaning, but sounds great. Been very well loved, it's about a dozen plays away from needing a quid blutl tacked to the cartridge.

(Edit because apparently I can neither read, nor remember the name. Which is embarrassing)

Nah, do it properly, or don't bother

Trying to decide if I really need to go bare wood, or or a micron layer of stained wood really matters. So long as I can get a primer on it, would be rate

Regret not wearing a respirator

Better view of the bottom of the body, showing how well loved this thing has been.

Still in two minds about whether I'll eventually fill in the dings and scratches, or leave it. I'm curious about what the damage will do for the tone. I'm half hoping for that unique frankenguitar tone anyway.

Time to get the heat gun out, though, now the body is well viced on my work bench

All disconnected, metallic hardware cleaned and polished. Just need to get the heat gun on it to remove the dodgy paint.

Hoping the weather stays dry so I can do that in the shed.

Need to look through the screw jars to see if I can replace all of the rusted ones.

Got this 1960s Japanese SG clone as a project guitar for an absolute steal yesterday. The build quality is pretty decent but woof... the paint is crap.

Going to strip it today, then paint in the week, but some absolute cowboy has glued patch wires to connectors rather than soldering stuff together.

Today's job, then, will be deciding whether or not to just snip the wire and join later. To be honest, the jack could do with being replaced one day so I might as well snip for now, fix properly later.

Rewatching Jonathan Creek

I love how fucking useful this feature is.

I searched for "butcher $city"

My VM platform `threes` ('cause threes a cloud, innit) can boot a VM, serve it an IP from its in built DHCP server, then allow it to request a tailscale auth token.

Networks are managed through tailscale tags and ACLs, via the `threes` API.

This unlocks being able to run a `threes` cluster across as many disparate nodes as you want.

You can almost certainly run this using headscale, too.

Happy with it so far.

Went to the fridge, but it was turned off. I'd been mucking about with the wall socket earlier plugging in the charger for my hedge cutters, maybe I'd unplugged the wrong thing.

Nope. Charger exploded. The fridge was off because the fuse at the consumer unit tripped.

No idea where the back of this charger flew off to, either.
