An unexpected thing happened: somehow I received a special award at the Pégases (french game industry awards), partly recognizing the continued work on Dear ImGui. Thank you🙏 https://academiejeuvideo.org

New blog post: "interest sources", contextual NPC interactions, as deployed by me in Sleight of Hand and other things. Here is one way that you, too, can keep your code from ballooning while actively encouraging your design aspirations to balloon

Latest progress on the Mip Explorer:
- Fixed a bug with the thumbnail generation causing multiple files to share the same thumbnail
- Improved the layout, resulting in less empty space
- Added more options to adjust the layout
- Added new buttons to adjust texture view scale (1:1, fill, fit)
Both the thumbnail bug and the layout customization options were long overdue, but turned out to be very simple to fix/add.

Oldie ✨
Earlier this week I said "Load bearing 'if'" in a call with someone, and since then I have been using it a lot. It has been really helpful to quickly clarify risk in statements with assumptions. Everyone immediately understands what is meant.

There he is - my lil' fish-goblin guy! ✨

10 Gigawatts. That's ~10 nuclear power plants, or 5x the Aswan Dam in Egypt. It's higher than the energy consumption of Lithuania (8.5 Gigawatts).
In 2019 (before the AI hype), all Google servers combined used 1.4 gigawatts, and people thought that was a lot.

But I guess it's all worth it if it results in Chat GPT giving answers that are *almost* correct.

I wrote up how I implemented navmesh generation through solid but destructible geometry in our game, something I could find very little written about (that didn't suggest a worse solution). #unrealengine #gamedev
