@nixCraft Right off the bat, FORTRAN and COBOL. And, IIRC, Pascal allowed array declarations to specify the range of indices.

@nixCraft yes, I agree. Of course, as with most such succinct statements, it uses hyperbole to make a point. But in my experience, pushing to get a clean, transparent solution takes more up front effort and yields more predictability and stability than a random pile of accreted “feechyerz”
