Raise your hand if you've ever been asked by leadership or stakeholders for an estimate (a project completion date, a cost projection, etc) ... and despite all attempts to communicate the inherent uncertainty, the number or date is now cast in concrete as what everyone assumes _will_ happen 🫠

In this post I talk about how monte carlo simulation and histogram charts can help in modeling projections, and communicate the uncertainty in the model

I first read The Flaw of Averages by Sam Savage about 15 years ago, back when I worked in the finance industry. I don’t remember every chapter, but I do remember the central idea—and it has shaped ...

This industry needs to do something about the absolute sprawl of manifests and configuration files. Everything is so incredibly complex that any given engineer spends more time tweaking build files than they do writing code.

Really exciting to have had a chance to talk about my team's work on "Ask Learn" with Engineering@Microsoft!

Wow! The #godot development fund is up to almost 50k/month. That’s impressive growth, and I hope it helps guide it to better c# and 3d support. Exciting times for them https://fund.godotengine.org/ #gamedev

Ugg, I really just want more time to sit and make music … even if it sucks. Stupid having-bills-to-pay
There seems to be such a thing as being Too productive. When I end the day with my brain just fried, I'm doing too much ... Finding the right boundaries is important

Anyone else have experience with https://godotengine.org/ ?

Been checking it out recently and am really enjoying it so far ... But am interested in any experiences on the longevity/robustness of it. Not that I'm anywhere near making anything huge with it, but can it stand up to the more well known engines? #gamedev #godot #godotengine
