A pleasant surprise after we returned home from 8 days of thanksgiving travel, one of the cacti has actual flowersđ”
My much more typical âtrickâ is to overwater these types of plants (cacti, succulents) so this is quite nice!
Computer geek. Go player. I work somewhere, but these are my opinions, etc. A boost does not (always) imply an endorsement.
Been around the "social media" block. Myspace, Orkut, Yahoo! 360Âș, Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Instagram, and probably a few I've forgotten (or suppressed).

I definitely donât mind this kind of view of the sky as I go for a walk in the evening đ
Why does this sometimes happen on #Mastodon; what can I do about it?
After I initially #Follow an account the text changes to âFollowingâ but then a few seconds later (if Iâm still on that page or check back out of an abundance of caution) it has changed to âCancel follow requestâ. If it would immediately jump to the second option I would understand that, and assume that the account owner is carefully moderating their followers, but this⊠how many accounts have I not _actually_ followed? đ€
Today was definitely not a typical walk in the park, with a small group of LARPers practicing their sword fighting, with as background music someone practicing bagpipes. Normally itâs just people, dogs, and the occasional (birthday) party in the picknick area, so this was quite the contrast.
I apologize for the blurriness but I didnât want to interrupt them so i had to zoom quite a bit.

This Sunday morning is for âpeople watchingâ, sitting in a Starbucks, sipping coffee, enjoying an oatmeal, and watching the world go by. A fairly diverse crowd thatâs visiting the weekly farmers market. Doesnât hurt that there are about 8 âstopsâ in easy reach đ
Woke up this morning to two voicemails from PG&E, telling us that the power is out starting around 5am, and an ETA for repair of 8am. Ok, no problem, mostly we canât make coffee but thatâll be fine. Now weâre ~9 hours later and 3 more updates further and clearly they got busy with other more important things since those initial calls because the latest estimate is tomorrow, shortly after noon.
Guess Iâll be doing a lot of catching up on RSS feeds and downloaded podcasts!
