I don't miss my days off being a Windows Sys Admin. It feels like Windows updates are causing problems more and more often. Is Windows just too complicated to be supported even by Microsoft?
Maybe a micro services version of Windows services should be considered. https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/new-windows-server-updates-cause-domain-controller-freezes-restarts/

I'm using a new phone and I decided not to install Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram. It feels so good!
I'm enjoying Mastodon so far, but I'm being careful with my follows. I also have Reddit to fill the gap on important news I used to get from Twitter.
#Ecuador won the opening match of the #WorldCup, so excuse me for celebrating!! 🎉
I came across this gem: Ken Thompson (Unix inventor) being interviewed by Brian Kernighan (also computer science royalty!) https://youtu.be/EY6q5dv_B-o?t=517

I'm enjoying this Twitter implosion a little too much. It feels wrong, but it's so great to see Elon fail so badly! I'm a bad person...
The God Emperor of Twitter cut off access to the company offices after the employee response to his ultimatum was to quit. In one group, 10 chose to stay and 40 employees quit. Supposedly, an entire critical engineering team without which you cannot run the site quit en masse. So reports are that the odds are high that site could break in the near future according to employees. Musk is holding meetings trying to convince some to stay. #Mastodon #BirdSite #Twitter #NearerMyGodToThee

Why would you stay at Twitter under these conditions?
Yes, some folks may have personal reasons such as family needs and dynamics, or immigration status, but most of the best engineers should just leave Twitter now.
