Do Not Forget.

The entire plot of Lord of the Flies was a bunch of dudes unable to do content moderation.

Here’s my new-ish #introduction for Mastodon:

Hey, I’m Ernie. I’m a writer and journalist and I’m best known for starting the Tedium newsletter. (https://tedium.co). I also run a secondary newsletter called MidRange (https://midrange.tedium.co).

I have run in a lot of circles over the years, but my primary interests are history, obscurities, and tech. I will talk about #politics sometimes—I have a poli-sci degree—but my focus is offbeat stuff.

Tedium | An Offbeat Digital Newsletter

Tedium is a twice-weekly offbeat digital newsletter that mines the depths of the long tail in search of obscurities. Dig in.

I asked for a mix of Dada meets Dali because when in middle school I discovered a book called "Poetry between the Wars"

It really got me into poetry and shenanigans of Eastern European writers and poets (defined as East Germany, Poland etc)

And #NAFO is at its heart a theater of absurd of brain dead dogs raising money to buy bombs that fall on Russian soldiers.

It is Dada meets Dali.

disco thing h/t to all Russian literary critics and psychologists who gave rise to post modern thinking I read like Bakhtin, Kristeva, Vygotsky Leont'ev, Rubinstein.

Also "The One" of first beat in funk time scales.

Everyone chasing "the one" truth and missing "The One" Truth

The Dr. Suess is a h/t to teachers and a reminder of his work as a political; satirist and cartoonist.

My #NAFO pfp chosen for a very specific reason:

My pfp is chosen for a very specific reason and the phrase "tree of liberty"

People need to read the letter Jefferson wrote to Smith about Shay's Rebellion.

He was making fun of rebels. Not suggesting they were good.

Said they needed to be set right by the truth.
