I just set up a #mastodon instance that I intend to use alone.

How can I fill the federated timeline, hashtags, and trends? I wan't to be able to discover stuff from servers that I don't already follow (especially from hashtags).

That "Sparks of Artificial General Intelligence" paper, fawning over GPT-4 and spinning yarn about "AGI", sure looked dumb when it got published, and sure looks even dumber now after it turned out GPT-4 is just eight GPT-3s in a trench coat.

@grillchen @kaia yes, it's a known issue apparently. I worked around it by setting Google Play links to open in Aurora (App Info -> Open by Default). Now I can search Google Play in the browser and then use 'open in app' once I found what I was looking for.

@kaia Here's what I did (no particular order):
- Install Aurora Store in case you need non-free apps
- Create a separate profile and install Google Play services in there from the Graphene Apps app (I almost never use this but it's useful for everything that needs a Google Maps view, the Google Camera, etc.).
- Replace the old android gallery with 'Simple Gallery' from F-Droid
- Install 'Organic Maps' / 'Magic Earth' as Google Maps alternatives
