Chat control is one of the worst draft laws ever: The plan is to scan your every text message and email.

Along with the recent scandal that the EU Commission used microtargeted ads to swing votes in their direction (a method the EU wants to abolish), there are multiple reasons why this law must never pass.

So many open source projects enforce the Signed-off-by line in commit messages without assigning any menaing to it. I am not a laywer, but I believe such line bares no meaning unless otherwise specified (and even then it is questionable, at least).

Requring a magical incantation in commit messages is an artificial obstacle for contributing, especially for beginners. If your project does that, try to figure out if you can drop the requrement. Thanks

Full text search has been merged in #Mastodon `main` branch, and will be in the next (and final?) 4.2.0 beta 🎉

It is opt-in, so it will take some time to be filled with people content as they enable their profile to be indexed, but this was one of the most wanted Mastodon features for some time.

We plan to deploy it to mastodon.social and mastodon.online in the coming days to have a bit more feedback on it and see how it behaves in the wild.
