They are starting to get it ...

Heads up distro folks, clowns are apparently submitting code vomited out of LLMs to ffmpeg and it didn't get shot down immediately. Obligation to vet updates is going to get a whole lot more serious if they let any of this shit in...

[FFmpeg-devel] [PATCH 0/3] avutil/dict2: Add AVDictionary2 with hash-based lookup

A reminder that Meta - the company that comes up with new and "innovative" privacy violations on a weekly basis - is still certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

The current system doesn't work!

Just had someone come to me asking about a CVE entry that came from their AI tool. They immediately took the bots side and started asking why we didn't cover X and Y... the problem is I assigned that CVE and wrote the exploit for it. It's interesting how quickly people take the LLMs answers as authoritative even when the person who did the triaging is in the room with them.
It has gone zero days since the latest slop
@sab38 @mattblaze @cstross Just take a picture with flash on, then zoom the picture.

@gsuberland @ryanc I've got 2 mini-splits in my apartment, though one of them was put in by my parents in '97 (3.6 kW Daikin in the livingroom); I put the other one in my work room 12 years ago, a 2.5 kW Mitsubishi that cost me 1150€ with install (we have a funny thing with VAT here – if you buy AC on its own, it's taxed at 22%, but if you buy it as part of install, it gets the lower 9.5% rate).

Last year Aldi was selling mini-splits with install for 700€ IIRC.

@gsuberland @ryanc How much do split systems cost there? You can get low-end models for under 500€ here, and around 300€ for install.
living on a humid island where all the houses are spec'd for surviving 1970s winters sure is fun at 30°C.
@jerry I had to make the decision last year, but his condition changed overnight, and we knew the time has come.

This is real. It is not the onion. The @nytimes.com is straight-up unwell. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

@thetnholler.bsky.social

It needs more time.

Let's reconsider this matter, say, 50 years after he has sadly left us. See how we fee* about it then.

@Deixis9 @thetnholler.bsky.social by then I hope the land has been returned to the people who hold it sacred
@thetnholler.bsky.social how about a more budget oriented statuary composed of dogshit that I burn
@thetnholler.bsky.social NYTimes should be embarrassed, but the unwell often have other things on their minds

@thetnholler.bsky.social

Added to it via noose and a good length of rope?

@thetnholler.bsky.social i lost it with NYT during their 'anti-trans people have a valid position' phase
@thetnholler.bsky.social Give it the treatment Napoleon's troops gave to the Sphinx?

@c_merriweather @thetnholler.bsky.social Mount Rushmore has been desecrated enough. The disgraceful orange scourge of the land must not be added.

The Black Hills are sacred to the Lakota Sioux, the original occupants of the area when white settlers arrived.

American Experience
@thetnholler.bsky.social Obviously the NYT is either unable or corruptly unwilling to distinguish between a convicted felon/rapist and an innocent person having the interest of the nation in mind, and adapt its mindless opinions accordingly.
Pathetic!
