This is my gumbo. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
My gumbo is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.
Without me, my gumbo is useless. Without my gumbo, I am useless. I must cook my gumbo true...
Getting options:

@Malaclypse Yeah, that fact did not make me appreciate RBG more.

But also the weird way in which everyone in the legal field has to be deferential to judges, and especially SCOTUS justices is longterm unhealthy. If everyone you interact with is trying to fluff you up, it's gonna mess with your worldview. Even on the bird site, the owner and richest man in the world gets called a moron pretty directly by everyone. But one would never tell Thomas "that's a dumb question."

@juergen_hubert This one is oddly comforting, in an actuarial sense.

My counter tells me that I have just passed 20,000 followers here on Mastodon. Thank you for following me here, I hope I am making your Mastodon experience better. To celebrate this Round Number Milestone, I have donated $200 to RIP Medical Debt, which buys and then pays off medical debt in the US, for pennies on the dollar. $200 pays off $20K in medical debt, so that's $1 of medical debt wiped out for each of my followers here. It's a good way for me to say "thank you."

@melico24 And like, I use HBO app now because it was free with my ATT internet. Moving it to either paid, or having ads pretty much guarantees I just delete the app.
@melico24 Its amazing how not good that sounds.
It’s the guns.
@melico24 $10 million is about the upper bound of what one can earn via your own work (Ie highly compensated doctor, lawyer, etc) getting beyond that usually involves luck or exploitation.
@melico24 my guess is that somewhere between $10 million and $100 million your brain just breaks.
Take my advice.
It's not a good idea to pull an April Fool's joke at a gender reveal party, and let the parents think their child is half-goblin.
Please learn from my mistakes.
